We love our neighborhood! Being a part of the menagerie of businesses in downtown Monterey is one of the best parts of The Pearl Works. With so many lunch spots within walking distance, The Pearl Works is ideally located.
We asked our Members what some of their favorite lunch spots were and these few were among the most agreed-upon delicious destinations for break time.
El Charrito Express
New to the neighborhood, this casual Mexican take-out spot has become a quick favorite among locals. From savory burritos to refreshing salads and bowls, we’re fortunate to have this delicious quick lunch spot an easy four minute walk from our building. One of our members said they’ve “never met a more perfect burrito.” Just their handmade tortillas alone are incredible!
Wild Plum Cafe
Sustainable, organic, and a menu loaded with nutritious meals, Wild Plum Cafe has it all. When it comes to sourcing, Pam (the owner) takes advantage of Monterey’s unique location in one of the most sustainable agricultural areas in the world. Our personal favorite lunch item? The BLAT sandwich.

Mundos
Voted one of the best sandwich shops in town, Mundos has everything a sandwich lover could ever want, from brisket and pork sandwiches to premium burgers and salads. And with a Mediterranean flair, their ciabatta bread and hummus are to die for.
Pacific Bowls & Rolls
Can’t choose between a burrito of sushi? Then try a sushirrito from Pacific Bowls and Rolls! Located on Alvarado St, this lunch spot is perfect if you’re craving a quick roll, poké bowl, or a fusion of the two!
Epsilon
Best Greek food on the peninsula? We think so. Incredible hummus, delicious Greek salads, and scrumptious imam—all served in very generous portions. Don’t blame us if you start throwing plates and yelling opa! as you walk out the door.
