At The Pearl Works, we believe everyone deserves access to a professional, supportive workspace — a place to focus, connect, and grow. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Monterey County Business Council (MCBC) to offer the Subsidy Program, making coworking more affordable and accessible for local entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and professionals.
A subsidy means you pay part of the cost, and MCBC covers the rest.
This way, The Pearl Works can continue offering the services and care that make our space unique, while qualifying participants get the support they need at a lower price.
Approved participants can apply their subsidy funds directly toward memberships, day passes, meeting rooms, or virtual mail at The Pearl Works.
The program is designed to lower the barrier for those who want a professional workspace but may not have the budget right now. The hope is that, by having access to a supportive environment, you can build momentum and revenue to sustain your work long after the subsidy ends.
This means more stability for our members and less paperwork standing between you and a space that supports your work.
The impact of this program is real.
“Having access to The Pearl Works gave me the focus and professional environment I needed to get my business off the ground. This program is truly invaluable — it’s making it possible for small businesses in Monterey like mine.”

“This is a good place to do hard things.”

These stories are just a glimpse of how access to space can ripple out into impact — for our members, their organizations, and the broader Monterey community.
